Enjoy WINTERFEST 2009, Henderson style!
The spectacular Henderson Winterfest celebration will be fun for the entire family with new experiences each day.
The U. S. Marines have asked us to help them collect toys for their annual TOYS FOR TOTS drive. Please bring an unwrapped toy to donate, let’s show them just how generous Henderson is.

Admission and all of the activities at Winterfest are FREE.

THURSDAY: December 10th -
Henderson Symphony Orchestra - 7:00p.m.

The Henderson Winterfest celebrations will kick-off with "Sounds of the Season" a concert by the Henderson Symphony Orchestra. Many local high school choir’s will join the Henderson Symphony Orchestra as they entertain you. This is a great way to let the young people of our community know how proud you are of them, while you enjoy an outstandingly special concert.


FRIDAY: December 11th - 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Friday’s guests of honor will be none other than Santa Claus and Mayor Andy Hafen who will officiate lighting the holiday tree at 6:00p.m.
1st Annual Festival of Trees:
Trees decorated by civic groups representing various countries and cultures will be on display on the Henderson Events Plaza. Stop by and enjoy the mix of ethnic and cultural flavors. Some of the countries being represented are Ireland, Korea, Philippines, Hawaii, Scotland and Italy.
The "Tree Lot" will officially open:
Stop by and purchase a tree, stand or wreath for your home.
There will be ice skating, train rides, wagon rides, kids activities, pony rides, a petting zoo, craft fair, and live entertainment making an evening full of fun.
Entertainment on the Events Plaza will include:
International School Chorus at 5:15p.m.
Gingerbread House Contest 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. in the Convention Center
Tree Lighting 6:00p.m.
Santa’s Arrival 6:00p.m.
Commemorative Beautification Commission Holiday Decorating Awards 6:00p.m.
Schofield & Thurman White Middle Schools at 6:30p.m. until 7:30p.m.
"The Nutcracker" at 7:30p.m. presented by the Insurgo Theatre Movement, puts a new modern twist on this holiday classic play. The ensemble features members of Cirque du Soleit and Blue Man Group.

Gingerbread House awards will be presented for best high school entry and best middle school entry on Saturday at 2:30p.m.

The parade will begin at Ocean Street and continue on Water Street to Pacific Street.
Winterfest’s Annual Holiday Parade starts at 10:00 a.m.
At 12:00 p.m. parade awads will be presented in the Henderson Events Plaza.
The "Tree Lot" will be open with trees, stands and wreaths for sale from 10:00a.m. - 7:00p.m.

Following the parade enjoy:
The Winterfest craft show introducing 65 vendors will entice you with their goods. 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:
Food and specialty vendors will be onsite all weekend.
Bring the kids to Santa’s cottage for a chat.
Everyone will enjoy the ice skating, snow play, gingerbread houses, pony rides, petting zoo, wagon rides, craft fair, storytelling, train rides and childrens’ activities.
